Just before dawn on Monday the Leaders for Tomorrow second year class was gearing up for yet another fabulous fundraiser. Mary Beth, Ellen, Elise and Jennifer were offering hot coffee to the swimmers and their supporters at this year's Columbia River Cross Channel Swim. They were working for tips... and they were all smiles (at 5:30AM) so the $50 in tips was well earned!
The next crew showed up at 7:15AM to help take down tables and lights, clean-up garbage cans and load all the various mechanisms necessary for "The Swim" to be returned to the Expo Center. Jessica, Bailie and Rachael did a great job assisting with the clean-up and it was much appreciated since most of the staff and volunteers had been "on the job" since 4AM. That raised an additional $100 to go toward the class' project... we don't know what it is yet but, I'm betting it'll be a good one! Peace!
